Pulse Electronics recommends a minimum of 10 mils (0.25 mm) spacing between the transformer and other components, and a solid ground plane underneath the transformer to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated power plane and a separate ground plane is also recommended.

To ensure reliable operation at high temperatures, Pulse Electronics recommends derating the transformer's power rating by 1.5% per degree Celsius above 40°C. Additionally, ensure good airflow around the transformer and avoid blocking the airflow vents.
