The MAX6675A+ can measure temperatures from 0°C to 1024°C (32°F to 1875°F). However, the accuracy of the measurement decreases above 660°C (1220°F).
The thermocouple should be connected to the T+ and T- pins of the MAX6675A+, with the thermocouple's positive leg connected to T+ and the negative leg connected to T-. The thermocouple should also be connected to a thermocouple amplifier or a cold junction compensation circuit to ensure accurate measurements.
The internal CJC in the MAX6675A+ is used to compensate for the temperature of the IC itself, which affects the thermocouple measurement. The CJC circuitry measures the temperature of the IC and adjusts the thermocouple measurement accordingly, ensuring accurate readings.
The MAX6675A+ outputs a 12-bit digital signal that represents the temperature in Celsius. The output code can be converted to temperature using the formula: Temperature (°C) = (Output Code x 0.25) - 256.5. This formula assumes a 12-bit output, where the output code ranges from 0 to 4095.
The conversion time of the MAX6675A+ is approximately 220ms. This is the time it takes for the device to perform a single temperature conversion.
