  • The MAX667CPA+ can measure temperatures from 0°C to 1024°C (32°F to 1875°F). However, the accuracy of the measurement decreases above 660°C (1220°F).

  • The MAX667CPA+ has a dedicated thermocouple input pin (T+ and T-) that should be connected to the thermocouple wires. Make sure to observe the correct polarity and use a thermocouple with a compatible type (K, J, T, E, N, or S).

  • The internal CJC compensates for the temperature of the IC itself, which affects the thermocouple measurement. This ensures accurate temperature readings by subtracting the IC's temperature from the measured thermocouple voltage.

  • The MAX667CPA+ has a conversion time of approximately 220 ms. You can read the temperature data at a rate of around 4.5 Hz (1/220 ms). However, it's recommended to wait for the conversion to complete before reading the data to ensure accuracy.

  • Noise can affect the accuracy of the temperature measurement. To minimize noise, use a low-pass filter or a shielded cable to connect the thermocouple to the MAX667CPA+. Additionally, ensure a good ground connection and keep the thermocouple wires away from high-frequency signals.
