The transformer selection depends on the output power, voltage, and current requirements. To ensure EMI compliance, focus on the layout of the high-voltage power supply, the transformer, and the output rectifier. Use a shielded transformer, and consider adding EMI filters or common-mode chokes to reduce radiated emissions. Additionally, ensure proper grounding and decoupling to minimize conducted emissions.
Implement OVP by connecting a voltage supervisor IC (e.g., ST's STM660) to the output of the VIPER37HE. The supervisor IC will monitor the output voltage and trigger a shutdown signal to the VIPER37HE if an overvoltage condition is detected. This protects the downstream circuitry from damage.
The VIPER37HE has a maximum junction temperature of 150°C. Ensure reliable operation by providing adequate heat sinking, using a thermal interface material, and keeping the device away from heat sources. Monitor the device's temperature and adjust the design accordingly to prevent overheating.
