Texas Instruments recommends a compact layout with the UCC381DP-5 placed close to the power stage, and using a solid ground plane to reduce EMI. Additionally, it's recommended to keep the high-current paths short and away from sensitive analog signals.
The recommended value for the VCC bypass capacitor is 1-10uF, with a voltage rating of at least 10V. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the VCC pin of the UCC381DP-5 to minimize inductance and ensure proper decoupling.
The maximum allowed voltage on the VREF pin is 5.5V. Exceeding this voltage can damage the internal voltage reference circuitry.
The switching frequency of the UCC381DP-5 can be adjusted by changing the value of the RT resistor connected to the RT pin. A lower value of RT will result in a higher switching frequency, while a higher value will result in a lower switching frequency.
