  • Texas Instruments recommends a compact layout with the UCC381DP-5 placed close to the power stage, and using a solid ground plane to reduce EMI. Additionally, it's recommended to keep the high-current paths short and away from sensitive analog signals.

  • The recommended value for the VCC bypass capacitor is 1-10uF, with a voltage rating of at least 10V. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the VCC pin of the UCC381DP-5 to minimize inductance and ensure proper decoupling.

  • The maximum allowed voltage on the VREF pin is 5.5V. Exceeding this voltage can damage the internal voltage reference circuitry.

  • The switching frequency of the UCC381DP-5 can be adjusted by changing the value of the RT resistor connected to the RT pin. A lower value of RT will result in a higher switching frequency, while a higher value will result in a lower switching frequency.

  • The bootstrap capacitor (CB) is used to provide a high-voltage bias to the gate driver stage. The recommended value for CB is 10-100nF, with a voltage rating of at least 10V. The capacitor should be placed between the BOOT pin and the drain of the power MOSFET.
