  • The maximum operating frequency of UC3843BN is 500 kHz. However, it's recommended to operate it at a frequency between 100 kHz to 400 kHz for optimal performance.

  • The values of RT and CT depend on the desired oscillator frequency and the specific application. A good starting point is to use the values recommended in the datasheet (RT = 10 kΩ, CT = 3.3 nF) and then adjust them based on the actual circuit performance.

  • The soft-start pin (SS) is used to gradually increase the output voltage during startup, reducing inrush currents and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Connect a capacitor (typically 10 nF to 100 nF) from the SS pin to ground and a resistor (typically 1 kΩ to 10 kΩ) from the SS pin to the output voltage.

  • To ensure stability, follow the layout guidelines in the datasheet, use a low-ESR output capacitor, and add a small capacitor (typically 10 nF to 100 nF) between the output and ground. Also, ensure that the input voltage is well-regulated and the output voltage is properly filtered.

  • The UC3843BN is designed to handle output currents up to 1.5 A. However, the actual output current capability depends on the specific application, PCB layout, and thermal management.
