For optimal thermal performance, it is recommended to have a solid ground plane on the PCB, and to place thermal vias under the device to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2-3 thermal vias with a diameter of 0.3-0.5 mm is recommended.
To ensure proper power-up and configuration, follow the recommended power-up sequence: 1) Apply VDD, 2) Apply VIO, 3) Configure the device through the I2C interface. Also, ensure that the device is properly decoupled with 0.1uF and 1uF capacitors.
The recommended input capacitor value is 1uF to 10uF, with an X5R or X7R dielectric. This ensures stable operation and minimizes the risk of oscillations.
The PGOOD signal is an open-drain output, so it requires an external pull-up resistor to a voltage rail (e.g., VDD or VIO). The recommended pull-up resistor value is 1kΩ to 10kΩ.
The maximum allowed voltage on the I2C bus is VIO + 0.3V, but it is recommended to keep it within VIO ± 10% to ensure reliable operation.
