The maximum output power of the TOP261EN is 65W, but it can be derated based on the input voltage, output voltage, and ambient temperature.
To ensure the TOP261EN operates within its SOA, follow the guidelines in the datasheet for input voltage, output voltage, output current, and ambient temperature. Additionally, ensure proper thermal management and PCB layout to minimize thermal resistance and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
The BYPASS pin is used to connect an external bypass capacitor to improve the power supply's noise immunity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). It is recommended to connect a 10nF to 100nF ceramic capacitor between the BYPASS pin and the primary side of the transformer.
To optimize the transformer design, follow the guidelines in the datasheet for transformer turns ratio, primary inductance, and leakage inductance. Additionally, consider the transformer's core material, wire size, and insulation to minimize losses and ensure reliable operation.
The recommended input capacitor value for the TOP261EN is 1uF to 10uF, depending on the input voltage and output power requirements. A larger input capacitor can help reduce input voltage ripple and improve the power supply's stability.
