  • The TLC555CDR can operate up to 2.1 MHz, but the maximum frequency is dependent on the values of the external resistors and capacitors used in the circuit.

  • To ensure reliable start-up, a capacitor (typically 10nF to 100nF) should be connected between the control voltage pin (pin 5) and ground. This capacitor helps to filter out noise and ensures a stable voltage on the control pin.

  • The control voltage pin (pin 5) allows the frequency of the oscillator to be controlled by an external voltage. By applying a voltage to this pin, the frequency of the oscillator can be adjusted. This pin can also be used to synchronize the oscillator with an external clock signal.

  • The frequency of the TLC555CDR oscillator can be calculated using the formula: f = 1.44 / (R1 + R2) * C, where R1 and R2 are the values of the external resistors and C is the value of the external capacitor.

  • The TLC555CDR can source or sink up to 200mA of current, making it suitable for driving small loads such as LEDs or small relays.
