The TL431CDT can operate from -40°C to 125°C, but the accuracy and stability of the voltage reference may degrade at extreme temperatures.
To ensure stability, use a minimum output capacitance of 10nF, keep the input and output capacitors close to the device, and avoid long PCB traces. Also, use a low-ESR capacitor for the output capacitor.
Keep the TL431CDT away from high-current paths and noisy areas on the PCB. Use a star-ground configuration, and keep the input and output capacitors close to the device. Use a solid ground plane and avoid vias under the device.
While the TL431CDT can be used as a voltage regulator, it's not recommended due to its limited current capability (up to 15mA). Instead, use it as a voltage reference and pair it with an external transistor or regulator for higher current applications.
The output voltage of the TL431CDT is determined by the ratio of the resistors in the feedback network. Use the formula: Vout = 2.5V x (R1 + R2) / R2, where R1 and R2 are the resistors in the feedback network.
