The maximum power dissipation of the TL082IP is 670mW, which is calculated based on the maximum junction temperature (TJ) of 150°C and the thermal resistance (θJA) of 125°C/W.
While the TL082IP is rated for operation up to 70°C, it's not recommended for use in high-temperature environments above 85°C. For high-temperature applications, consider using a more suitable op-amp like the TLV247x or OPAx197.
To ensure stability, make sure to follow proper PCB layout practices, use a low-ESR capacitor for decoupling, and consider adding a compensation capacitor (e.g., 10-100pF) between the output and the inverting input. Additionally, ensure the feedback network is properly designed to avoid oscillations.
The recommended supply voltage range for the TL082IP is ±4V to ±18V. Operating outside this range may affect the op-amp's performance, stability, and reliability.
While the TL082IP can be used as a comparator, it's not the most suitable choice due to its relatively slow slew rate (13V/μs) and limited output current (±20mA). Consider using a dedicated comparator like the LM339 or TLV7031 for comparator applications.
