For optimal thermal performance, it is recommended to use a 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a thermal relief pattern under the IC. A minimum of 10 thermal vias under the IC is recommended, with a via diameter of 0.3mm and a pitch of 0.5mm.
To ensure stable operation with a high-ESR output capacitor, it is recommended to add a 1-2nF ceramic capacitor in parallel with the output capacitor to reduce the overall ESR. Additionally, ensure the output capacitor is placed close to the IC and the PCB layout is optimized for low impedance.
The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 6V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the IC. It is recommended to use a voltage divider or a level shifter if the enable signal is from a higher voltage domain.
The SST2907AT116 is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the IC's performance and reliability may degrade at high temperatures. It is recommended to derate the output current and ensure proper thermal management to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature environments.
To troubleshoot oscillations or instability issues, check the PCB layout for any signs of resonance or impedance mismatch. Ensure the output capacitor is properly decoupled and the input voltage is stable. Also, verify that the component values and PCB layout meet the recommended specifications in the datasheet.
