Tip: Data for a part may vary between manufacturers. You can filter for manufacturers on the top of the page next to the part image and part number.
SL3007-TP by Micro Commercial Components is a Power Field-Effect Transistor.
Power Field-Effect Transistors are under the broader part category of Transistors.
A transistor is a small semiconductor device used to amplify, control, or create electrical signals. When selecting a transistor, factors such as voltage, current rating, gain, and power dissipation must be considered, with common types. Read more about Transistors on our Transistors part category page.

A good PCB layout for the SL3007-TP should minimize parasitic inductance and capacitance. Keep the input and output traces short and wide, and use a solid ground plane to reduce noise. Place the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use a ferrite bead or a resistor in series with the input to filter out high-frequency noise.
To ensure the SL3007-TP operates within its SOA, monitor the input voltage, output current, and junction temperature. Keep the input voltage within the recommended range (4.5V to 18V), and limit the output current to 3A or less. Also, ensure the junction temperature does not exceed 125°C by providing adequate heat sinking and airflow.
The maximum allowed voltage drop across the SL3007-TP's internal diode is 1.5V. Exceeding this voltage drop may cause the diode to overheat and reduce its lifespan.
While the SL3007-TP is a reliable component, it is not specifically designed for high-reliability or automotive applications. For such applications, consider using components with higher reliability ratings, such as those with AEC-Q100 certification.
To troubleshoot issues with the SL3007-TP, start by checking the input voltage, output current, and junction temperature. Verify that the component is properly soldered and that the PCB layout is correct. Check for signs of physical damage, such as cracks or burn marks. If the issue persists, consult the datasheet and application notes for guidance, or contact Micro Commercial Components' technical support.
