A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the RF traces as short as possible and use a 50-ohm impedance-controlled line to the antenna.
Implement frequency hopping, use a high-quality antenna, and consider using a shield around the module to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI).
The maximum transmission power is +20 dBm (100 mW) for the 868 MHz and 915 MHz frequency bands, and +14 dBm (25 mW) for the 433 MHz frequency band.
Use the low-power mode (LPM) by setting the LPM pin high, and adjust the transmission power and data rate to minimize power consumption. Additionally, consider using a low-power microcontroller and optimizing the system's sleep modes.
A quarter-wave monopole antenna or a dipole antenna is recommended. Place the antenna at least 10 mm away from the PCB edge and ensure it is perpendicular to the PCB to minimize detuning effects.
