A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the power and ground traces as short and wide as possible, and use a common mode choke to filter out noise.
Follow the recommended operating conditions, ensure proper thermal management, and use a thermal pad or heat sink if necessary. Also, consider using a temperature sensor to monitor the device temperature.
The built-in voltage regulator has a limited current capacity and may not be suitable for high-current applications. Additionally, it may not provide the same level of noise rejection as an external regulator. Consider using an external regulator for critical applications.
Use the power-down mode when the device is not in use, optimize the clock frequency, and use the built-in power-saving features such as dynamic voltage and frequency scaling. Also, consider using a low-power oscillator and minimizing the number of active peripherals.
The S1MLWH has built-in ESD protection diodes on the I/O pins, but it's still important to follow proper ESD handling procedures during assembly and testing. Consider adding external ESD protection devices for critical applications.
