A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. The IC should be placed near a thermal pad or a heat sink to dissipate heat efficiently.
Ensure that the input voltage is within the recommended range, and the output capacitor is of sufficient value and type (e.g., X5R or X7R). Also, minimize the distance between the IC and the output capacitor.
The maximum safe operating junction temperature is 125°C. Exceeding this temperature may reduce the lifespan of the IC or cause permanent damage.
While ceramic capacitors can be used, they may not be the best choice due to their limited capacitance and potential for voltage coefficient issues. X5R or X7R capacitors are recommended for optimal performance.
The output voltage ripple can be calculated using the formula: ΔVout = (Iout * ESL) / (Cout * fsw), where ESL is the equivalent series inductance of the output capacitor, Cout is the output capacitance, and fsw is the switching frequency.
