A thermal pad is recommended under the IC, and a large copper area on the PCB can help to dissipate heat. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
To ensure stability, a minimum output capacitance of 10uF is recommended, and the output capacitor should be placed as close to the IC as possible. Additionally, a 1uF capacitor on the input pin can help to filter out noise.
The maximum input voltage is 30V, but it's recommended to keep it below 28V to ensure reliable operation and to prevent damage to the IC.
The RPR-220PC30N is rated for operation up to 125°C, but the maximum junction temperature should not exceed 150°C. Derating is required for high-temperature operation, and a heat sink may be necessary.
The RPR-220PC30N has built-in overcurrent protection, but it's still recommended to add external protection such as a fuse or a current limiter. Additionally, a thermal shutdown circuit can be implemented to prevent overheating.
