RK-1505S Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

RECOM recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area connected to the tab of the module to ensure good thermal conduction. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended.

RECOM recommends using a soldering profile with a peak temperature of 240°C to 250°C for 1-2 seconds. Ensure the module is properly aligned with the PCB pads and use a solder with a melting point above 217°C.

The maximum allowed capacitance for the output filter capacitor is 47µF. Exceeding this value may cause instability in the module.

The RK-1505S is rated for operation up to 80°C ambient temperature. However, derating is required for temperatures above 60°C. Consult the datasheet for derating curves.
