The recommended power-on sequence is to apply VCC first, followed by AVCC, and then the clock signal. This ensures proper initialization of the internal voltage regulator and prevents latch-up.
To use the JTAG interface for debugging, connect the TCK pin to the TCK signal from the debugger, and ensure that the TMS pin is connected to the TMS signal from the debugger. Also, make sure to set the JTAGEN pin high to enable JTAG mode.
The maximum frequency for the external clock input is 20 MHz. Exceeding this frequency may cause instability or malfunction of the microcontroller.
To configure the WDT, set the WDT clock source to the desired frequency, and set the WDT timeout period according to your application's requirements. Also, make sure to clear the WDT flag regularly to prevent reset.
The NMI (Non-Maskable Interrupt) pin is used to generate a non-maskable interrupt, which can be used to handle critical events such as a watchdog timer timeout or a power failure. To use the NMI pin, connect it to a pull-up resistor and a switch or a sensor that triggers the interrupt.
