Texas Instruments recommends a layout that minimizes parasitic capacitance and inductance, with a solid ground plane and short traces. A 4-layer PCB with a dedicated analog ground plane is recommended. See the TI application note 'AN-1187: PCB Layout for Switching Regulators and Op Amps' for more details.
To ensure stability, ensure that the feedback loop has a phase margin of at least 45° and a gain margin of at least 10 dB. Use a compensation capacitor (e.g., 10-100 pF) in parallel with the feedback resistor to improve phase margin. Also, avoid using long feedback traces and minimize parasitic capacitance.
The maximum power dissipation of OPA336N is 500 mW. However, this can be limited by the thermal resistance of the package and the PCB. Ensure that the device is properly heat-sinked and that the PCB is designed to dissipate heat efficiently.
While OPA336N can be used as a comparator, it is not recommended due to its limited slew rate and bandwidth. Texas Instruments recommends using a dedicated comparator, such as the LM339 or TLV7031, for comparator applications.
Use ESD protection devices, such as TVS diodes or ESD arrays, on the input and output pins of OPA336N. Ensure that the PCB has a solid ground plane and that all components are properly grounded. Handle the device by the body, not the pins, and use an anti-static wrist strap or mat when handling the device.
