  • A good PCB layout for the MPQ3467 should prioritize thermal dissipation. Place the device near a thermal pad or a heat sink, and ensure that the thermal vias are connected to a solid copper plane on the bottom layer. Keep the copper plane as large as possible to dissipate heat efficiently.

  • The input capacitor should be chosen based on the input voltage ripple, output voltage, and switching frequency. A general rule of thumb is to use a capacitor with a capacitance value of 10-22uF, and a voltage rating of 1.5-2 times the input voltage. X5R or X7R ceramic capacitors are recommended for their low ESR and high reliability.

  • The maximum output current of the MPQ3467 is 3A, but it's recommended to derate the output current based on the ambient temperature and the input voltage. Refer to the datasheet's thermal derating curve to determine the maximum output current for your specific application.

  • The MPQ3467 has a built-in overcurrent protection feature that can be enabled by connecting a resistor between the OC pin and the GND pin. The value of the resistor determines the overcurrent threshold. A typical value is 1kΩ, which sets the overcurrent threshold to around 3.5A.

  • The EN (enable) pin is used to turn the regulator on or off. When the EN pin is pulled high (above 1.4V), the regulator is enabled, and when it's pulled low (below 0.4V), the regulator is disabled. This pin can be used to implement power sequencing or to turn off the regulator during shutdown or standby modes.
