The MJD47T4 can operate from -40°C to 150°C (TJ), but the maximum junction temperature (TJ) should not exceed 150°C for reliable operation.
To ensure proper biasing, connect the base to the emitter through a resistor (Rb) and the collector to the emitter through another resistor (Rc). The recommended values are Rb = 1 kΩ and Rc = 2.2 kΩ.
To minimize thermal resistance, use a thermal pad with a minimum size of 2 mm x 2 mm, and ensure the PCB has a thermal via array underneath the pad. Keep the thermal pad away from other components to prevent thermal coupling.
Yes, the MJD47T4 can be used in switching applications, but be aware of the maximum switching frequency (fs) and the minimum on-time (ton). The maximum fs is 100 kHz, and the minimum ton is 1 μs.
To protect the MJD47T4 from ESD, use an ESD protection diode (e.g., 1.5KE6.8A) between the base and emitter, and ensure the PCB has an ESD protection network.
