The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VDD first, followed by VSS, and then the logic inputs. This ensures proper device operation and prevents potential latch-up conditions.
To ensure monotonicity, it is recommended to use a clock frequency of at least 10 kHz and to avoid making multiple writes to the wiper register without reading back the value. Additionally, the user should ensure that the wiper position is not changed too quickly, as this can cause non-monotonic behavior.
The maximum voltage that can be applied to the RH and RL pins is VDD + 0.3V. Exceeding this voltage can cause damage to the device.
When the wiper is at the extreme ends of the resistor array, the resistance between the RH and RL pins may not be exactly equal to the specified value. In such cases, it is recommended to use external resistors to trim the resistance to the desired value.
When daisy-chaining multiple MCP4451-104E/ML devices, it is recommended to use a common clock signal and to ensure that the CS pin is tied low for all devices except the one being addressed. Additionally, the user should ensure that the SCK pin is not driven by multiple devices simultaneously.
