The maximum operating voltage for the MCP4018T-103E/LT is 5.5V.
To ensure proper initialization, a reset pulse (low-to-high transition) on the CS pin is required after power-up. This sets the wiper to the mid-scale position (128 taps).
The maximum current rating for the RH and RL pins is 1 mA. Exceeding this current may cause damage to the device.
To prevent accidental programming, tie the CS pin to VDD through a 1 kΩ resistor and add a 0.1 μF capacitor between CS and GND. This ensures that the CS pin is held high during power-up and brownout conditions.
The recommended clock frequency for the SPI interface is up to 1 MHz. However, the device can operate at higher frequencies, but with reduced noise immunity.
