The maximum voltage that can be applied to the analog input pins is VDD + 0.3V, but it's recommended to keep it within the range of GND to VDD to ensure accurate conversions.
The gain settings can be configured through the Gain Configuration Register (GCR). The PGA gain can be set to 1, 2, 4, or 8. Refer to the datasheet for the specific bit settings.
The VREF pin is an external reference voltage input that can be used to set the full-scale range of the ADC. Connect a stable voltage source (between 1.2V and VDD) to the VREF pin to set the reference voltage.
When using the differential input mode, the conversion result is a signed 18-bit value. The most significant bit (MSB) indicates the sign of the result (0 for positive, 1 for negative). The remaining 17 bits represent the magnitude of the result.
The RDY (Ready) pin is an output that indicates when a conversion is complete. It goes low when a conversion is in progress and goes high when the result is ready to be read. You can use this pin to synchronize your microcontroller with the ADC conversion process.
