The maximum clock frequency that can be used with the internal oscillator is 25 MHz. However, it's recommended to use a crystal oscillator or an external clock source for more accurate and stable clock signals.
The flash memory can be configured to store both code and data by using the Flash Configuration Register (FCR). The FCR allows you to specify the flash sector layout and allocate space for code and data. Refer to the datasheet for more information on configuring the FCR.
The maximum current that can be sourced or sunk by the GPIO pins is 25 mA. However, it's recommended to limit the current to 10 mA or less to ensure reliable operation and prevent overheating.
The MC9S12P96MFT has a built-in watchdog timer (COP) that can be enabled and configured using the COP Control Register (COPCR). The COP can be used to reset the microcontroller in case of a software fault or hang.
The VREG pin is used to regulate the internal voltage of the microcontroller. It's recommended to connect a 10 uF capacitor between the VREG pin and ground to ensure stable operation. The VREG pin should not be used as a power output pin.
