MACOM recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and thermal vias under the device to dissipate heat. A thermal pad on the bottom of the device should be connected to a heat sink or a thermal management system.
The device requires a bias tee or a DC block to provide the necessary DC voltage and current. A bias voltage of 5V and a current of 350mA is recommended. The bias circuit should be designed to provide a low impedance path to ground.
MACOM recommends using a conjugate match at the input and output ports to achieve optimal performance. A series inductor and shunt capacitor can be used to match the input and output impedance to 50 ohms.
The device is sensitive to ESD, and proper handling and storage procedures should be followed to prevent damage. Anti-static wrist straps, mats, and packaging should be used when handling the device.
The recommended operating temperature range for the MADL-011023-14150T is -40°C to 85°C. Operating the device outside of this range may affect its performance and reliability.
