A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. The top layer should have a wide copper pour connected to the GND pin, and the bottom layer should have a solid ground plane. This layout helps to dissipate heat efficiently.
To ensure reliable start-up, make sure the input voltage rises monotonically and the EN pin is pulled high after the input voltage reaches 2.5V. Also, add a 10nF capacitor between the EN pin and GND to filter out noise.
The LTM8055IY-1#PBF can drive up to 10uF of capacitive load. However, it's recommended to limit the capacitive load to 4.7uF to ensure stability and prevent oscillations.
The compensation network depends on the output capacitor, ESR, and load characteristics. Use the datasheet's compensation network design guidelines and simulate the design using SPICE models to optimize the compensation network for your specific application.
A low-ESR ceramic capacitor (e.g., X5R or X7R) with a value between 4.7uF to 10uF is recommended. This helps to filter out input noise and ensure stable operation.
