The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VCC before applying the input signal. This ensures that the internal biasing and references are established before the input signal is applied.
To ensure a stable state during power-up, add a 1uF capacitor between the VCC pin and GND, and a 100nF capacitor between the VIN pin and GND. This helps to filter out any noise and ensures a stable power-up sequence.
The LTC6994 can handle input frequencies up to 100MHz. However, the device's performance may degrade at higher frequencies due to internal parasitics and layout limitations.
To optimize the layout, keep the input and output traces short and away from noise sources. Use a solid ground plane and decouple the power supply with a 1uF capacitor. Also, ensure that the VIN and VCC pins are bypassed with 100nF capacitors to GND.
The LTC6994 can drive up to 20mA of output current. However, the output current should be limited to 10mA or less to ensure reliable operation and minimize power consumption.
