A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output traces short and away from each other to minimize coupling. Use a common mode choke or a ferrite bead to filter the input power.
Ensure that the output capacitor is properly sized and placed close to the output pin. Use a low-ESR capacitor and avoid using ceramic capacitors with high ESL. Also, make sure the input voltage is within the recommended range and the input capacitor is properly sized.
The maximum input voltage is 5.5V, but it's recommended to keep it below 5V to ensure reliable operation and to prevent damage to the device.
The LTC5596 is rated for operation up to 125°C, but the device's performance and reliability may degrade at high temperatures. Ensure proper thermal management and consider using a heat sink if operating in high-temperature environments.
Use an oscilloscope to monitor the input and output voltages, and check for any signs of oscillation or ringing. Verify that the input voltage is within the recommended range and that the output capacitor is properly sized. Check the PCB layout for any signs of noise coupling or electromagnetic interference.
