A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the input and output traces short and away from each other to minimize coupling. Use a common mode choke or a ferrite bead to filter the input power.
Ensure the VCC pin is biased to a stable voltage between 4.75V to 5.25V. The VBIAS pin should be connected to a quiet, low-impedance voltage source, such as a voltage regulator or a filtered voltage reference.
The maximum input power is limited by the device's thermal characteristics. Ensure the junction temperature (TJ) does not exceed 150°C. For a typical application, the maximum input power is around 20dBm (100mW).
Use the device's internal matching network and adjust the external components (L1, L2, C1, and C2) to optimize the impedance matching for the desired frequency band. Use a network analyzer or simulation tools to optimize the component values.
Use a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a dedicated ESD protection device, such as the SMPA56, to protect the device from electrostatic discharge. Ensure the ESD protection device is connected between the input pins and the ground plane.
