The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the VIN pin is 40V, but it's recommended to keep it below 36V for reliable operation.
To optimize the inductor selection, consider the inductor's saturation current, DC resistance, and core material. A good starting point is to choose an inductor with a saturation current rating of at least 1.5 times the peak current, and a DC resistance of less than 100mΩ.
For optimal performance, keep the high-current paths (VIN, VOUT, and GND) short and wide, and separate the analog and power grounds. Place the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use a solid ground plane to reduce noise and EMI.
The switching frequency of the LTC3769 can be adjusted by connecting a resistor (RT) between the RT pin and GND. The switching frequency (FS) is calculated as FS = 1 / (RT * 10^(-6)), where RT is in ohms.
The SYNC pin allows multiple LTC3769 devices to be synchronized, reducing EMI and noise. Connect the SYNC pins of multiple devices together, and the devices will operate at the same switching frequency, reducing beat frequencies and EMI.
