The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the VIN pin is 15V, but it's recommended to keep it below 12V for optimal performance and to prevent damage to the internal components.
To minimize EMI and noise, it's recommended to follow a star-ground configuration, keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC, and use a solid ground plane. Additionally, use a shielded inductor and keep the switching node (SW pin) away from sensitive analog nodes.
A low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10uF to 22uF is recommended for the input capacitor. X5R or X7R dielectric types are suitable for this application.
The inductor value and type depend on the specific application requirements. A good starting point is to use an inductor with a value between 1uH to 10uH and a saturation current rating above the peak current of the converter. Shielded inductors with a low DCR (e.g., 100mΩ) are recommended.
The maximum output current that the LTC3636EUFD#TRPBF can deliver is 3A, but it's recommended to derate the output current based on the ambient temperature and the input voltage to ensure reliable operation.
