The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the VIN pin is 40V, but it's recommended to keep it below 36V for reliable operation.
To optimize the inductor selection, consider the inductor's saturation current, DC resistance, and core loss. A good starting point is to choose an inductor with a saturation current at least 1.5 times the peak current, and a DC resistance less than 100mΩ.
To minimize EMI and noise, keep the switching node (SW pin) away from sensitive analog nodes, use a solid ground plane, and place the input and output capacitors close to the IC. Also, use a shielded inductor and orient it to minimize radiation.
To configure the LTC3115 for a specific output voltage, use the FB pin and a resistive divider to set the output voltage. The FB pin voltage is 0.8V, so choose resistors that divide the output voltage to 0.8V.
The maximum ambient temperature for reliable operation of the LTC3115 is 125°C, but it's recommended to keep it below 105°C for optimal performance and reliability.
