  • The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the VIN pin is 40V, but it's recommended to keep it below 36V for reliable operation.

  • Choose an inductor with a high saturation current rating, low DC resistance, and a high quality factor (Q). A good starting point is an inductor with an inductance value between 1.5uH to 3.3uH.

  • The RUN pin is an active-high enable input that allows the user to turn the converter on and off. Connect it to VIN to enable the converter, or to GND to disable it.

  • The output voltage is set by the resistive divider network connected to the FB pin. The feedback voltage is 0.8V, so choose resistors that provide the desired output voltage based on the formula: Vout = 0.8V x (R1 + R2) / R2.

  • The maximum output current of the LTC3115 is 2A, but it's limited by the thermal performance of the package and the PCB design. De-rate the output current based on the ambient temperature and the thermal design.
