  • Texas Instruments recommends a 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane on the bottom layer and a thermal relief pattern on the top layer to ensure good thermal conductivity. Additionally, placing vias under the device can help to dissipate heat more efficiently.

  • To ensure reliable startup and shutdown, it is recommended to add a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during startup, and to use a voltage supervisor or reset IC to monitor the output voltage and reset the device during power-up and power-down sequences.

  • The LP3910SQ-AP/NOPB can drive a maximum capacitive load of 10uF. Exceeding this limit may cause instability or oscillations in the output voltage. It is recommended to use a smaller capacitor value or add a series resistor to limit the capacitive load.

  • To optimize the output voltage ripple and noise, it is recommended to use a low-ESR output capacitor, add a noise-reducing capacitor (e.g. 10nF) between the output and ground, and use a shielded inductor to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).

  • The recommended input voltage range for the LP3910SQ-AP/NOPB is 2.7V to 5.5V. Operating the device outside of this range may affect its performance, efficiency, or reliability.
