The LM5160ADNTR can handle input voltages up to 65V, but it's recommended to keep it below 60V for reliable operation.
Make sure to provide adequate heat sinking, keep the device away from heat sources, and ensure good airflow around the device. Also, monitor the junction temperature (TJ) and adjust the operating conditions accordingly.
Use a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, keep the input and output capacitors close to the device, and use short, wide traces for the high-current paths. Refer to the TI application note SLUA623 for more details.
Choose an inductor with a saturation current rating above the peak current of the converter, and a DC resistance (DCR) that minimizes losses. Use the TI inductor selection tool or consult the datasheet for more information.
Use a low-ESR, high-frequency ceramic capacitor (e.g., X7R or X5R) with a voltage rating above the maximum input voltage. Avoid using electrolytic capacitors due to their high ESR.
