The maximum input voltage is 40V, but it's recommended to keep it below 35V for reliable operation.
The output voltage can be adjusted by using a resistive divider network between the output and adjustment pins. The formula to calculate the output voltage is Vout = 1.25 * (1 + R2/R1).
The LM317EMP/NOPB requires a minimum load current of 3.5mA to maintain regulation. If the load current is less than this, an additional resistor can be added to ensure proper operation.
The LM317EMP/NOPB is rated for operation up to 125°C, but the output current and voltage regulation may degrade at high temperatures. It's recommended to derate the output current and voltage according to the temperature derating curve in the datasheet.
A capacitor (e.g., 10uF) can be added between the input and ground to filter out voltage transients. Additionally, a voltage clamp (e.g., a zener diode) can be used to protect the regulator from high-voltage spikes.
