  • The minimum input voltage required for the LM317DCYR to operate is 3V above the output voltage. For example, if the output voltage is 5V, the minimum input voltage would be 8V.

  • To ensure stability and prevent oscillations, a minimum output capacitance of 1uF is recommended. Additionally, the input capacitor should be at least 10uF to prevent oscillations.

  • The maximum current that the LM317DCYR can supply is 1.5A. However, it's recommended to derate the current to 1A or less to ensure reliable operation.

  • The output voltage of the LM317DCYR can be adjusted by using a resistive divider network between the output and the adjust pin. The output voltage can be calculated using the formula: Vout = 1.25 * (1 + R2/R1).

  • The thermal shutdown temperature of the LM317DCYR is 150°C. The device will shut down if the junction temperature exceeds this value.
