The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the LM258AP is 42V, but it's recommended to keep it below 40V for reliable operation.
To ensure stability, make sure to use a minimum output capacitance of 22uF, and keep the output voltage ripple below 1% of the output voltage. Also, use a low-ESR capacitor and keep the layout clean and compact.
The maximum output current that the LM258AP can deliver is 3A, but it's recommended to keep it below 2.5A for reliable operation and to prevent overheating.
Choose an inductor with a value between 10uH to 22uH, and a current rating that matches or exceeds the maximum output current. Also, consider the inductor's saturation current, DC resistance, and core material.
The feedback pin (FB) is used to sense the output voltage and regulate it to the desired value. It's connected to the output voltage through a resistive divider network, which sets the output voltage.
