The maximum input voltage that can be applied to the LM235Z is 42V, but it's recommended to keep it below 40V for reliable operation.
To ensure stability, make sure to use a minimum output capacitance of 10uF with an ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) of less than 1 ohm, and a minimum input capacitance of 1uF.
The minimum input voltage required for the LM235Z to regulate properly is 7.5V for a 5V output and 10.5V for a 12V output.
The LM235Z is rated for operation up to 125°C, but the maximum junction temperature should not exceed 150°C. Be sure to follow proper thermal design and heat sinking to ensure reliable operation.
Use a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a voltage clamp at the input to protect the LM235Z from voltage surges and spikes.
