The recommended power-on sequence is to apply VDDIO before VDD. This ensures that the internal voltage regulators are properly powered up.
The interrupt pins can be configured to trigger on specific events such as free-fall, wake-up, or tap detection by setting the corresponding bits in the INT_CFG register.
The self-test feature is used to verify the accelerometer's functionality. It applies a known stimulus to the sensor and checks the output. To use it, set the ST bit in the CTRL_REG3 register and read the output from the OUT_X, OUT_Y, and OUT_Z registers.
The acceleration values can be calculated by multiplying the raw sensor data by the sensitivity value (typically 0.061 mg/LSB) and dividing by the full-scale range (typically ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, or ±16g).
The high-pass filter removes gravity and low-frequency noise, while the low-pass filter removes high-frequency noise. Use the high-pass filter for applications that require gravity cancellation, and the low-pass filter for applications that require noise reduction.
