STMicroelectronics recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and a separate power plane for the LDFMPUR. The input and output tracks should be kept short and away from noise sources. A good decoupling scheme is also essential.
The LDFMPUR requires a power-up sequence of VCC, then VDD, and finally EN. The EN pin should be tied to VCC through a resistor. The device should be configured through the I2C interface, following the protocol outlined in the datasheet.
The maximum current rating of the LDFMPUR output stages is 100mA per channel. However, the total current drawn from the device should not exceed 500mA to prevent overheating.
First, verify that the power-up sequence is correct and the device is properly configured. Check the I2C communication using a logic analyzer or oscilloscope. If issues persist, try resetting the device or checking for short circuits or overheating.
The LDFMPUR is rated for operation up to 85°C. However, the device's performance and reliability may degrade at higher temperatures. It is recommended to use a heat sink or thermal management system to keep the device within its operating temperature range.
