The L4978D can handle input voltages up to 40V, but it's recommended to keep it below 30V for reliable operation.
Choose an output capacitor with a value between 10uF to 100uF, and a voltage rating of at least 10V. A low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) capacitor is recommended for stability.
The L4978D requires a minimum input voltage of 7V to regulate properly, but it's recommended to keep it above 8V for optimal performance.
The L4978D is rated for operation up to 150°C, but it's recommended to derate the output current and input voltage at high temperatures to ensure reliable operation.
Use a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode or a voltage clamp circuit to protect the L4978D from input voltage surges and spikes.
