A recommended PCB layout for optimal thermal performance would be to use a large copper area on the bottom layer as a heat sink, connected to the thermal pad of the KDZVTR6.8B. This helps to dissipate heat efficiently.
To ensure stable operation with a high-impedance source, it is recommended to add a buffer capacitor (e.g., 10nF) between the input pin and GND to reduce the impedance and prevent oscillation.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 6.8V, it is recommended to limit the input voltage to 6.5V or less to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the device.
While the KDZVTR6.8B is rated for operation up to 125°C, it is recommended to derate the voltage and current ratings at high temperatures to ensure reliable operation and prevent thermal runaway.
To troubleshoot oscillation or instability issues, check the PCB layout for any parasitic inductance or capacitance that may be causing the issue. Also, ensure that the input and output capacitors are properly selected and placed.
