A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the digital and analog circuits separate, and use a ferrite bead or a 10-ohm resistor in series with the VCC pin to reduce noise.
Use a shielded twisted pair (STP) or a coaxial cable, and consider using a repeater or an isolator to boost the signal. Also, ensure that the cable is properly terminated and that the signal is not attenuated.
The maximum cable length depends on the data rate, cable type, and noise environment. As a general guideline, the maximum cable length is around 100 meters for a data rate of 100 Mbps. However, it's recommended to consult the datasheet and perform tests to determine the optimal cable length for your specific application.
Use a common-mode choke or a ferrite bead on the cable to reduce common-mode transients. Also, ensure that the PCB is properly shielded, and use EMI filters or shielding on the connectors to minimize radiation.
Use a 10-uF ceramic capacitor and a 1-uF ceramic capacitor in parallel, placed as close as possible to the VCC pin. This will help to reduce noise and ensure stable operation.
