The maximum voltage that can be applied to the input pins is ±55V, but it's recommended to keep it within the supply voltage range to ensure accurate measurements.
The gain of the INA205 is set by the gain resistor (Rg) and can be calculated using the formula: Gain = 20.5kΩ / Rg. For example, if Rg is 1kΩ, the gain would be 205.
The CAP pin is used to filter out high-frequency noise and can be connected to a capacitor to ground. A 10nF to 100nF capacitor can be used for this purpose.
To ensure accurate current measurements, make sure to use a sense resistor with a low temperature coefficient, keep the sense resistor close to the INA205, and use a Kelvin connection to the sense resistor.
The maximum current that can be measured by the INA205 depends on the sense resistor value and the gain setting. For example, with a 1mΩ sense resistor and a gain of 205, the maximum current that can be measured is approximately ±10A.
