A good layout and routing practice is to keep the analog and digital grounds separate, use a solid ground plane, and keep the power supply lines away from the analog signals. Additionally, use a low-ESR capacitor for decoupling and place it close to the power pin.
The ICM7218BIJI requires a power-on reset (POR) circuit to ensure proper initialization. A simple POR circuit can be implemented using a resistor, capacitor, and diode. The datasheet provides a recommended POR circuit diagram.
The ICM7218BIJI can use an external clock source or an internal oscillator. For an external clock source, use a high-quality crystal oscillator or a clock generator module. For internal oscillator, use a high-quality capacitor and resistor to ensure stability.
The ICM7218BIJI has a 3-wire serial interface (SCL, SDA, and INT) that can be connected to a microcontroller or FPGA. Use a level shifter if the voltage levels are different. Ensure proper signal termination and use a pull-up resistor on the SDA line.
