  • Infineon provides a recommended PCB layout in the application note AN-1165, which includes guidelines for thermal vias, copper thickness, and component placement to ensure optimal thermal performance.

  • The input capacitor selection depends on the input voltage, ripple current, and ESR requirements. Infineon recommends using a capacitor with a voltage rating of at least 1.5 times the maximum input voltage, and an ESR of less than 1 ohm. A ceramic or film capacitor with a capacitance value between 1-10uF is typically suitable.

  • The maximum allowed voltage drop across the sense resistor (Rsense) is 1V. Exceeding this voltage drop may lead to inaccurate current sensing and affect the device's performance.

  • The ICE3B2065 has a built-in OVP feature that can be enabled by connecting the OVP pin to a voltage divider network. The OVP threshold is set by the voltage divider ratio, and the device will shut down if the input voltage exceeds the set threshold.

  • The bootstrap capacitor (Cboot) is used to supply the high-side gate driver. The recommended value for Cboot is between 10nF to 100nF, depending on the switching frequency and the gate driver's current requirements. A higher value can reduce the voltage drop across the bootstrap diode but may increase the turn-on time.
