A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the signal traces short and away from noise sources. Use a 50-ohm microstrip transmission line for the RF signal path.
Apply a voltage of 3.3V to 5V to the VCC pin, and ensure the EN pin is tied to a logic high (VCC) to enable the device. Use a 10kΩ pull-up resistor on the EN pin if it's not driven by a logic signal.
The HSMS-C110 can handle up to 23 dBm (200 mW) of continuous wave (CW) power. However, it's recommended to derate the power handling to 18 dBm (63 mW) for reliable operation.
Use a π-network or a T-network topology with capacitors and inductors to match the 50-ohm input/output impedance of the HSMS-C110 to the system's impedance. Use simulation tools or impedance matching software to optimize the component values.
The HSMS-C110 is specified to operate from -40°C to 85°C. However, it's recommended to operate the device within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C for optimal performance and reliability.
